Addressing presspersons, Mr. Krishnamoorthy said the PCC leader, V. Narayanasamy, was making charges against the BJP without understanding the purpose for which the bandh was called. Barring a few incidents, it passed off peacefully.
Venkiah Naidu coming
Mr. Krishnamoorthy said the party president, Venkiah Naidu, would be visiting here on October 3 to address a workers' meeting and also to hold discussions with the office bearers. He would be given a `poorna kumbam' reception on his arrival at Muthialpet. A procession by 300 motorcyclists would be organised and Mr. Naidu would offer worship at the Manakula Vinayakar temple before proceeding to address the party meetings. Mr. Krishnamoorthy said he resigned from the State unit president post to fully concentrate on his constituency, Reddiarpalayam. The high command formally obtained resignations from presidents of all the State units. Stressing that the bread and milk should be given to children without break, he said there should be close monitoring of the quality of the products. Instead of distributing milk and bread in the morning, the administration could make them available in the afternoon. The inner-party squabbles in the Congress had been a cause for concern to the people. The problems of the government staff remained unsolved.
