Letters to the Editor
Sir, The Congress spokesman, Jaipal Reddy, says that the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, had, some years back, supported the Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, and, so, her present statement that she will not support the idea of Ms. Gandhi becoming the Prime Minister should be treated as null and void. Applying the same yardstick, Mr. Reddy should resign from the Congress as he had emphatically stated at the time when the Opposition was trying to form a Government under Deve Gowda that ``there is no question of my joining the Congress.'' P.S. Chandrasekhar, Secunderabad
