Youth Red Cross members stage rally

CHENNAI Aug. 27. The members of Youth Red Cross, Chennai took out a rally here today to mark the Geneva Convention Day, under the aegis of Indian Red Cross Society(IRCS).

About 30 volunteers carried placards displaying the symbols of different professions such as medicine and pharmaceutical science in the two-wheeler rally towards Collectorate to create awareness among the public.

The rally was taken out with a view to highlighting instances of misuse of Red Cross Emblem by other professionals.

The Red Cross is a sign used exclusively by Army medical services and IRCS members and its misuse is an offence, says secretary, IRCS, P. Maruthi.
