Launching Kingfisher's Super Strong here, Mr. Viswanathan said in the last three years, the company had been focussing on the strong beer segment in other parts of India except Tamil Nadu. With huge potential available in Tamil Nadu, the company now entered this State with Super Strong beer, having an alcohol content of about 7.5 per cent. It could launch this product only now as it was the State policy for brewery companies to have their own plant, he added. The company, through its sister concern, Millennium Breweries, had acquired the brewing capacity of Empee Distilleries to make the new brand. Initially, it would focus on Chennai and later on other parts of the State. To augment production, the company may require to have tie-ups or acquire brewing capacity of other distilleries in Tamil Nadu.
