Actress cites threat to life

Mumbai Aug. 11. Actress, Parveen Babi, urged the court to depute a Commissioner to her residence to record evidence against the actor accused, Sanjay Dutt, on his alleged role in the serial blasts case.

Ms. Babi informed the designated judge, P. D. Kode, in a 33-page affidavit on August 8 that she was unable to depose as she feared a threat to her life, but affirmed she had gathered enough evidence against Mr. Dutt.

Posting the matter to August 19, the judge has directed CBI and Mr. Dutt to file their affidavits.
