By Our Staff Reporter

KOLLAM JULY 11. The sentence for all the 26 persons convicted in the Kalluvathukkal-Pallikkal-Pallipuram hooch tragedy case would be pronounced by the Kollam First Additional Sessions Judge, K. Chandradas Nadar, on July 16.

All the 26 convicted persons today attended the procedure requesting the judge to have pity on them and forgive them. Some of them wept.

This procedure was followed by the argument on sentence during which The Prosecutor, V. Sugathan, gave his viewpoint on the nature of the punishment to be awarded. Defence counsels argued for commutation.
