Shabir Shah for unconditional invitation to talks

Srinagar July 11. The senior Kashmiri separatist leader, Shabir Ahmad Shah, today asked the Centre to extend a ``formal and unconditional'' invitation to separatist leaders for talks to resolve the Kashmir issue.

``If the Government (of India) is sincere and serious in resolving the Kashmir issue, then it should extend a formal and unconditional invitation to separatist leaders for dialogue,'' Mr. Shah told two senior former Union Government functionaries in Anantnag today. The former Foreign Secretary, Salman Hyder, and the former Secretary to Indira Gandhi, P.N. Dhar, called on Mr. Shah at his house in Anantnag today.— PTI
