Sales during April-June increased by 19.1 per cent to 7,681 vehicles from 6,446 vehicles a year ago. Of this, exports shot by 127.1 per cent to 452 vehicles. June sales were higher by 21.3 per cent as compared to 2,460 vehicles sold in May this year. Domestic sales of medium duty passenger vehicles during the month under review shot up by 62.8 per cent to 1,135 vehicles from 697 units in the year-ago month. Sales of medium duty goods vehicles recorded a 2.2 per cent rise at 1,676 units but that of light goods vehicles went down to two units from 23 units sold in June 2001. PTI
