Subbudu felicitated

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI MAY 7. Octogenarian P.V. Subramanyam -- popularly known as Subbudu -- was felicitated here yesterday by the former President, R. Venkataraman, for his lifetime contribution to music and art.

At the felicitation function, organised by www.artindia.net -- an exclusive and comprehensive website on Indian performing and allied arts -- Mr. Subramanyam, who is now 85, was greeted by some of India's leading artistes including Sonal Mansingh and Swapanasundari.

Artistes and Mr. Subramanyam's friends described the grand old musicologist-composer-critic as a scholar par excellence, a musician who enthralled everyone and a peerless reviewer who had an immense flair for writing.
