Naxalites kill 14 policemen

Koderma May 7. At least 14 policemen were killed and 10 wounded when outlawed Maoist Communist Centre (MCC) and People's War Group (PWG) naxalites blew up their patrol van in Koderma district, besides triggering a series of blasts on railway tracks in several parts of Jharkhand on the second day of their three-day economic blockade.

Police said PWG guerrillas detonated a landmine planted under a culvert as the vehicle of the Jharkhand Armed Police was passing over it near Mathadih village in Satgawan police station about 90 km from Koderma. The naxalites were reported to have decamped with the firearms of the jawans.— PTI
