Jama-at-Ulema plea to `dissidents'

By Our Staff Reporter

KOZHIKODE May 6. The Samastha Kerala Jama-at-Ulema's central region meet has suggested that those who had chosen to break away from the parent body and set up an educational board should to return to the mainfold.

A resolution adopted at the meeting here today decried the tendency to make appeals for unity while at the same time continuing with subversive activities, besides creating problems in madrasas.

The resolution protested against the statement of a Union Minister describing madrasas as centres of terrorist activities.

The meeting wanted concerned persons to evaluate the functioning of the large number of madrasas under the Samastha Kerala Islam Religious Board which had an open syllabus.
