By Our Staff Correspondent

Bangalore April 6. The State unit of the BJP will celebrate Ambedkar Jayanti till April 14, for which it has planned several programmes. The General Secretary of the State unit, Vishweshwar Hegde, told presspersons here today that the party's Executive Committee would meet on April 20 and 21 in Belgaum to discuss issues pertaining to the State, particularly how the Congress Government had failed in providing good governance. He said that in the past two months, the law and order situation had deteriorated, and the Government was not able to check the "rot in the administration". The BJP would pressure the Government to hand over the investigation of the stamp paper racket to the Central Bureau of Investigation. While welcoming the announcement of the Prime Minister, A.B. Vajpayee on strengthening the Panchayat Raj system, Mr. Hegde said the State Government had not implemented several Central schemes.
