By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI March 25. Burglars struck again at a police quarters in the city and decamped with cash and valuables, totalling over 60 sovereigns, from three houses when the inmates were away on Sunday night.

Only last Monday, burglars struck at the Kondithope police quarters and escaped with the booty, this time the victims were from Tondiarpet police quarters.

The burglary in the police quarters has left the residents shaken.

The Joint Commissioner of Police (North), C.Sylendra Babu, said the culprits had broken into ten houses but only three were occupied. They removed about 60 sovereigns of jewellery and some cash from the house of Kala, a woman constable.

Some money and valuables were reported stolen from other houses.

Fingerprints have been lifted from the scene of crime. Police suspect the same gang, which struck at the Kondithope quarters earlier to be responsible for Sunday's crime.

A special team has been formed to trace the culprits.
