DAVANGERE FEB. 26 . A Third Front will emerge in the politics of the nation soon, and it will provide succour to farmers, rural poor, and working class, the former Prime Minister, H.D.Deve Gowda, has said.

Mr. Gowda was in Kallahalligallara Hatti on Monday to console the people who lost their houses in a fire mishap.

He said he would pressure the Union and the State governments to take up their rehabilitation on a priority basis, besides waiving their loans.

He would ensure that compensation was paid to them within a year,

he said.

Mr. Gowda also attended the Taralabalu Hunnime festival near Harihar, 15 km. from here.

On the merger of two factions of the Janata Dal, he said the leaders of two factions were holding talks in this regard.

Referring to the fate of employees of the Kirloskar Factory, who were rendered jobless owing to its closure, he said he would do his best to ensure the early<243> reopening of the factory unit at Harihar.
