FIIs net sellers in equities and debt
MUMBAI, SEPT. 23. Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net
sellers in equities and debt at Rs. 159.9 crores ($34 million)
and Rs.237.9 crores ($50.4 Million) respectively during the week
ended September 21.
Mutual funds (MFs) were net buyers in equities at Rs. 83.89
crores and net sellers in debt at Rs. 94.81 crores during the
first four trading days, according to data available with the
Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
FIIs and MFs were more active in the debt market with the former
indulging only in selling activity worth Rs. 276.3 crores ($58.6
million) on September 20, the highest for the week.
FIIs were net sellers in equity market on first three days at Rs.
109.8 crores ($23.3 million), Rs.101.3 crores ($21.5 million) and
Rs. 42.7 crores ($9.1 million) on September 17, 18 and 19
respectively.
MFs were net buyers in equities and net sellers in debt on all
the four days beginning September 17.
