Car damaged as tree falls

CHENNAI, SEPT. 23. A 12-year-old avenue tree collapsed at the
Anna Nagar West Extension on Saturday night, damaging a car
parked near it.
According to Mr. T. Radhakrishna, a resident, the Flame of the
Forest tree on the 20th Street suddenly collapsed around 9-30
p.m. and the branches fell on the car.
No one was injured. Today, officials of the Electricity Board
repaired the damaged cables and the Corporation officials removed
major portions of the tree, he said.
