Sonia happy with party's performance
ITANAGAR, SEPT. 23. The Congress president, Ms. Sonia Gandhi,
today expressed happiness over her party's performance in by-
election to the Pakke-Kesang Assembly seat in Arunanchal Pradesh
and congratulated the winner, Ms. Nyani Natung.
Ms. Natung, Arunachal Pradesh Minister of State for Social
Welfare won the seat defeating her lone rival BJP rival, Mr.
Techi Hemu. The election, held on September 20, was necessitated
by the death of the Education Minister, Dera Natung, Ms. Natung's
husband, in a helicopter crash on May 8.
