TMC urges Nedumaran to reveal names
By Our Special Correspondent
CHENNAI, NOV. 24. The Leader of the Opposition in the State
Assembly, Mr. S. Balakrishnan, today asked the Tamil Nationalist
Movement leader, Mr. P. Nedumaran to reveal the names of the
politicians and officials who had allegedly abetted with bandit
Veerappan.
Since Mr. Nedumaran had alleged that politicians and officials
were hand in glove with Veerappan, he had a moral responsibility
to divulge the details, Mr. Balakrishnan said, in a statement
today.
The senior TMC leader demanded either a CBI enquiry or a judicial
probe into the Kannada actor, Mr. Rajkumar's abduction as
conflicting reports had emerged about how and when he was
released.
Mr. Balakrishnan also clarified that the TMC was not opposed to
the release of the TADA detenus if they were innocent and that he
himself had met then Karnataka Chief Minister, Mr.J.H.Patel and
appealed to him to take steps for their release.
