St. Ephrem's, wins title

KOTTAYAM: Mannanam's St. Ephrem's boys and Kottayam's Mount Carmel girls emerged champions in the second St. Joseph's all-Kerala schools basketball tournament at the St. Joseph's Central School, Mundakayam, on Wednesday.

St. Ephrem's Akhil Mathew Sunny and Mount Carmel's Minu Marium were adjudged the best players in the boys' and girls' sections respectively.

The results (finals):

Boys: St. Ephrem's 75 (Ashish Joseph 19, Akhil Mathew Sunny 18, Ajith P. Thomas 18, Shinto Joseph 12) bt St. Joseph's HSS (Pulincunnu) 58 (DojoAntony 16, Jose Kuriakose 14, Bolbin Babu 14, Sarath Sankar 12, Brahim M. Subbair 10).

Girls: Mount Carmel HSS 28 (K.S. Poojamol 10) bt St. Joseph's HSS (Alappuzha) 17 .
