Sandhu begins well
Mumbai: Delhi's Karanjit Singh Sandhu led the Rs. 8 million Crompton Greaves Open 2010 here on Wednesday with a lowest score of 63.
Sandhu's splendid display equalled the course record (of Gurbaaz Mann) for a single round on the par-70 layout of the Bombay Presidency Golf Club, Chembur. His best endeavour so far in the professional circuit helped him finish the opening day three strokes ahead of the PGTI leader Ashok Kumar, Dinesh Raghuvanshi and Sujjan Singh.
Eight golfers — Mandeo Singh Pathania, Vinod Kumar, Ajeetesh Sandhu, Digvijay Singh, Vivek Bhandari, Harendra Gupta, Akshay Butta and Rafick Ali Mollah — share the fifth place at three under 67. — Special Correspondent
