Manivannan is Managing Director of Bescom

BANGALORE: IAS officer P. Manivannan on Saturday took charge as the Managing Director of Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (Bescom).
Mr. Manivannan, earlier Commissioner for Sericulture, was transferred as MD of Bescom during the recent round of transfers of senior IAS officers a week ago. He was unable to take charge immediately as he was deputed to Bihar on election duty. Mr. Manivannan told The Hindu that he would make efforts to limit power cuts in Bangalore. “At least during summer, we don't want to resort to power cuts without [notice],” he said.
