Staff Reporter

Kozhikode: Tathva-10, the techno-management festival on the National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT-C), will conclude on the campus here on Sunday. The three-day event, which started on Thursday, featured a humanoid robot show, AcYut (Sanskrit for “indestructible”), India's first humanoid robot. It was developed by the engineering students of BITS Pilani. Among other things, AcYut robots demonstrated their dancing abilities, jiving to the beats of rock music amidst loud cheering. The show was presented with a tagline “We have dreams, we live them, we chase them…” The second day featured a show by Amar Sen, a renowned sand artist.

The Humanoid Hand workshop, conducted by members of the AcYut team on Saturday, imparted a basic knowledge of robotics, enabling participants to assemble a humanoid hand and programme it to draw figures and alphabets.

The main robotics events on Saturday included Transporter, the League of Machines and Minimouse . Transporter dealt with the development of weight-carrying robots, both manual and autonomous, League of Machines was a mini robo-soccer league while Minimouse involved building of robots that could navigate through a grid.

Other events included Inquisito Virtuoso, a crime-scene investigation and the Career Guidance Workshop. Tathva-10 will conclude on Sunday.
