Suryaprakash moves into fourth round

HYDERABAD: Top-seeded L. Suryaprakash moved into the fourth round with a fluent 21-0, 21-0 win over M. Rohith in the Open carom selection trials-cum-tournament at Fateh Maidan Indoor Stadium here on Friday.

Railway College champs

Railway Degree College won the Osmania University inter-college volleyball tournament for men defeating Sardar Patel College 25-18, 19-25, 15-9 in the final here.

For the winner, Vinayender and Shankar combined well while for the losers Rakesh and Ashok put up a good show.

One-day tournaments

The District Sports Authority of Hyderabad will organise one-day tournaments (under-19 years) in football, hockey and volleyball (only for boys), basketball and handball (only for girls) on August 29 at Gymkhana Grounds here to commemorate the birth anniversary of hockey legend Dhyan Chand and also the National Sports Day.
