Easy for RKS Kalvi Nilayam

Coimbatore: RKS Kalvi Nilayam ICC posted a convincing five-wicket win over Kaleeswara Cricket Club in the TNCA-CDCA second division league for the Unidrive Line Trophy at the TNAU grounds here on Sunday.

The scores: Second division (Unidrive Line Trophy): Kaleeswara CC 100 in 35 overs (M. Balraj 39 not out, R. Marimuthu four for 19, C. Gowtham four for 29) lost to RKS Kalvi Nilayam ICC 102 for five in 36.1 overs (R. Marimuthu 30 not out).

Third division (Servall Trophy): Suryabala CC 78 in 38.2 overs (Hari Haran four for 15) lost to Rainbow 1972 MMCC 79 for four in 20.3 overs .

Swimming meet

A district-level swimming meet for sub-junior and junior boys and girls, organised by the Coimbatore District Aquatic Association, will be held at the Jenneys Residency swimming pool from August 17 to 19.

CMS Trophy

The district-level volleyball tournament for boys and girls for the CMS Trophy, organised by the CMS MHSS, will be held at the school premises from August 18 to 20. The tournament has attracted 68 teams of which 48 are from the boys' side.

Deadly spell by Praveen

At Salem, V. Praveen (seven for 5) bowled a deadly spell as Holy Cross HSS thrashed Meenam Park MHSS by nine wickets and entered the final of the district-level inter-school cricket tournament for the Dr. Balakrishnan Trophy on Sunday.

The scores (semifinals): Collegiate: Sona CE 98 in 25 overs lost to AVS ASC 101 for five in 22 overs; GAC 150 for five in 25 overs (S. Vivek 70, Chinnamani 40) bt Jairam CAS 108 in 25 overs.

Schools: Ammapet GBHSS 96 for eight in 20 overs (Siva three for 15) bt Attayampatti GHSS 82 in 18.1 overs (Srinivasan three for 5); Meenam Park MS 31 in 11.2 overs (V. Praveen seven for 5) lost to Holy Cross HSS 32 for one in 5.4 overs .

Indian CC wins

At Krishnagiri, Indian Cricket Club scored a 23-run win over Fight Boys Cricket Club in the TNCA-KDCA second division league on Sunday.

The scores: Indian CC 143 for four in 25 overs (Naresh 47) bt Fight Boys CC 120 in 24.5 overs (Imran 48); Hercules CC 152 for eight in 25 overs (Sekar 42, Magesh five for 23) bt Star Eleven CC 85 in 20.3 overs .
