‘Madras Week' programmes today

CHENNAI: The following programmes are being organised on Sunday as part of the ‘Madras Week'.
A fancy dress event, in which the participants will dress up as famous personalities in varied fields who contributed to the development of Chennai, and a carnival comprising food stalls of traditional food, workshop for kids and activity stalls would be held at The Yellow Bus, E-35/2, 2nd Avenue, Besant Nagar, at 9 a.m.
A talk and presentation on ‘Spit of Sand to a city – Making of Madras' by K.R.A. Narasaiah is being organised at Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Chetpet, at 10 a.m.
A sketching competition of heritage buildings in Chennai will be conducted by MEASI Academy of Architecture, 87, Peters Road, Royapettah, at 10 a.m.
A skit ‘Happy Birthday Madras' will be presented by residents of Besant Nagar at The Yellow Bus, at 3.30 p.m.
Writer Sivasankari talks on ‘My Madras' as part of Chennai Heritage Lecture at Hotel Taj Connemara at 6.30 p.m.
A painting exhibition on ‘Nature in and around Chennai' by Chennai Trekking Club will be held at Zha Café, 2nd Street, Kamarajar Avenue, Adyar, at 10 a.m.
