Abhishek Ashok slams century

HYDERABAD: A century by Abhishek Ashok (115) for Continental Club and a good spell from Saaketh (six for 60) for New Blues in different matches were the highlights of the A-Division (two-day) league cricket championship here on Monday.

The scores: A-Division (two-day) league: Oxford Blues 158 (Krishna 32, K. Tejas Reddy 45, Saaketh six for 60 ) vs New Blues 90 for three ( Sandeep Goud 43, Ashrith 34 batting).

Hyderabad Titans 187 (Srujan 44, Akhasy 44, Md. Azmath Al 39, Ryan Koundinya five for 59) vs Vijay Hanuman 20 for no loss.

Continental CC 393 (Abhishek Ashok 115, Sai Venkatesh 68, P. S. Chaitanya Reddy 34, Goutham 31, Farhan Farqooui three for 42, Mirza Maqbool Baig three for 111 ) vs CCOB.

Gujarathi 173 (Shanthi Busan 40, Vanka Anirudh 33, Yesudas five for 76) vs Crown 86 for no loss (Anand 48 batting, Pradeep 31 batting).

A-Division (one-day): Venus Cybertech 170 (Mahinder 75, Syed Shakir four for 61, Ahmed Khan five for 53) lost to Khursheed Jha 171 for eight (Mujeeb 30, Sreenu three for 48) .

AV wins title

AV College won the Osmania University inter-college wrestling championship here today. Nizam College and Lal Bahadur College (Mehdipatnam) finished second and third respectively.

Aditya clinches honours

S.S.V. Aditya emerged champion with five points in the 21st annual YMCA Open chess tournament for boys and girls (under-10) years here.

Easy win for Aircel

Aircel recorded a seven-wicket win over The Hindu in the Hyderabad Corporate Sports Festival here.

Inter-district basketball

Andhra Pradesh Basketball Association will organise 35th Junior inter-district championship for boys and girls (under-18) at Ramachandrapuram (East Godavari) from September 9 to 12.
