HYDERABAD: Deccan Chargers captain Adam Gilchrist said though the mood of the team was fantastic ahead of the Indian Premier League, it was really frustrating that all the team members were not able to assemble for the training sessions. Speaking about the preparations on Monday at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium (Uppal) here, Gilchrist said due to the commitments of several of the players in the zonal events in India (Deodhar Trophy) and international matches, they would be joining the team later. “Otherwise, it is a great feeling to lead a team which is high on confidence. But it is unfortunate that we will not be playing our matches in front of home crowds,” Gilchrist remarked. Looking forward Chargers coach Darren Lehmann said that they were looking forward to the IPL-3 and hope to continue the good work they had done in the second edition. “It is a nice feeling to be champions but we don't want to invite pressure by thinking too much about it,” he said. “This is a new edition and a totally new challenge.” Key Chargers players who are yet to join the team ahead of the IPL-3 starting on March 12 include Kemar Roach of West Indies, Scott Styris of New Zealand and Herschelle Gibbs playing in the domestic championships in South Africa. Even Rohit Sharma could not join as he was playing for West Zone in the Deodhar Trophy in Vadodara.
