TIRUCHI: The Zakat Foundation of India, New Delhi and Interfaith Coalition for Peace (ICP) will jointly select educationally bright and financially needy candidates to sponsor them for best possible Civil Services coaching in New Delhi. A preliminary selection will be held at Jamal Mohamed College here at 9 a.m. on August 11. According to a communication from M. Sheik Mohamed, Principal, Jamal Mohamed College, final year undergraduate and postgraduate students from any discipline belonging to Muslim and Christian communities are eligible to apply. Syed Zafar Mahmood, president, Zakat Foundation of India, New Delhi and Fr. Packiam Samuel, general secretary of ICP would select the candidates for the sponsorship. There would be a written test consisting of objective and essay types (90 minutes) followed by interview to the candidates on the same day. Mr. Sheik Mohamed said that the results would be announced in the evening and selected candidates would be assisted to prepare for the preliminary, main and personality interview for the Civil Services in reputed coaching centres in New Delhi including boarding and lodging. Partial sponsorshipEconomically weaker candidates would be considered for partial sponsorship, he said. The written test for preliminary selection would be held at 9 a.m. on August 11 at the Guidance and Counselling Centre in Jamal Mohamed College, Tiruchi.
