Killed in accident

CHENNAI: A 25-year-old software professional was killed in a hit-and-run accident along the Rajiv Gandhi Salai near Thorapakkam on Tuesday night.

Police said Devendra Babu of Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, was working in a software company in Thoraipakkam. When he attempted to cross the road after having dinner at a nearby restaurant, a speeding car hit him.

The car escaped from the scene, public said. However, within a few minutes, the driver allegedly hit another cyclist and a pedestrian within one-km distance at Mettukuppam, and they were injured. The driver escaped from the spot.
