Armed men rob recovery agent of cash Crime notes

Short circuit: The KSRTC bus being removed in Bangalore on Monday.

BANGALORE: Armed men attacked a recovery agent of a bank and robbed him of Rs. 25,000 and two mobile phones in the Jnana Bharathi police station limits on Sunday night.

The police said that around 10 p.m. three men, who came on a motorcycle, waylaid the recovery agent, Lokesh, and his friend Sunil on 8th Main, 2nd Stage, Nagarabavi.

Suicides

Sukruthi (24) committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in R.T. Nagar police station limits on Saturday evening.

The police said Sukurthi, a former dance bar artiste, was the wife of Rajesh, an employee of a jewellery shop. The couple from Orissa were residents of 14th Main Road, Matadahalli here.

The R.T. Nagar police, who have registered a case, said they were yet to ascertain the reason behind the suicide.

In another incident, Tajunnissa (20) committed suicide by setting herself on fire at her house in Muneshwaranagar in Devarajeevanahalli police station limits on Sunday. On hearing her screams, her neighbours rushed her to Victoria Hospital and she died there.

She was reportedly depressed as her father was in debts, the police said.

Killed

A 31-year-old man who was riding a moped without wearing helmet was killed in a road accident in K.R. Puram traffic police station limits on Sunday evening.

The police said that around 5.15 p.m. a goods vehicle rammed Veerappa’s moped near the Sri Renukadevi temple. Veerappa, a resident of Gunjurpalya, was killed on the spot. The K.R. Puram traffic police have registered a case.

Bus catches fire

A Rajahamsa bus was damaged in an accidental fire at the KSRTC II depot on Kengal Hanumantaiah Road on Monday noon.

The police said a short circuit in the battery of the vehicle had triggered the fire around noon.

The bus, which arrived from Kudligi in Bellary district around 6 a.m., was serviced and parked at the depot.

Two fire tenders rushed to the spot and put out the flames.

The Wilson Garden police have registered a case.
