‘Scientific knowledge should be used for constructive activities’ KADAPA: Scientific knowledge and research findings should be effectively applied for making people’s lives comfortable, District Collector M.T. Krishna Babu said on Sunday. Speaking after inaugurating `Sunitha Williams Pushpagiri Science Fair 2007, he advised students not to merely mug up the subject for securing marks, but increase their understanding of scientific advancements. Syllabus should be reviewed to suit the daily life, he said. Scientific knowledge should be used for constructive activities and not for destructive purposes, he said. Promoting leadershipTeaching methods should be improved to promote leadership qualities among students and project works should promote creativity, Mr. Krishna Babu said. He opened the stalls on Indian space programme and disaster management. He posed queries to the students. Exhibits inspected District Educational Officer V.A. Hemanath lit the lamp and inspected about 100 exhibits put up in the science fair. He lauded the creativity among students. District Science Officer Rehman said lauded the creativity among young students. Pushpagiri Concept School Director M. Vivekananda Reddy 436 students put up 116 science exhibits in the science fair. Principals Siva Kumar and Yerram Reddy and teachers Girija and Razia and students participated.
