Government to recruit 37, 000 policemen Stir due to ignorance of law: DGP “Medicos’ complaint comes under bailable offence” MAHABUBNAGAR: Director General of Police S.S.P. Yadav has found fault with the decision of Andhra Pradesh Junior Doctor’s Association for continuing their agitation over the alleged attack on their colleagues by MIM legislator Afsar Khan. Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday, the DGP said the junior doctors are continuing their agitation due to the ignorance of law. He said the complaint given by the junior doctors against the legislator does not allow the police to arrest the MLA on non-bailable charges. “As per the contents of the complaint it is a bailable offence,” the DGP said. To a query over the arrest of P. Srisailam, a journalist, the DGP said that he has received a representation from journalist unions about it just before he leaving for Mahabubnagar and added that he had asked his subordinate officer to go into the details. “After going back from Mahabubangar, he will give me feedback on the incident,” he said. Asked whether he considers the Maoists problem as mere law and order or as a socio-economic problem, the DGP said that they are doing what the Government expects from them. Mr. Yadav said the State Government has decided to recruit 37,000 policemen. Additional DGP (Intelligence) Aravind Rao, Hyderabad Range IGP Anuradha, Mahabubnagar Superintendent of Police Charu Sinha and OSD Rajesh Kumar were also present.
