Nanda restricts Himachal Pradesh

Chennai: Himachal Pradesh ended the first day of its fourth-round Ranji Trophy Super League match against Delhi on 228 for five in 90 overs. Opener Manish Gupta scored 49 before being dismissed by Chetanya Nanda, who finished the day in Dharamsala with three wickets.

Mohanty scalps four

At Hyderabad, Orissa’s Debasis Mohanty took four for 49 to help reduce the home side to 201 for eight. D.B. Ravi Teja made a 79-ball 81 with 12 fours, putting on 97 for the first wicket with Daniel Manohar (41) before Mohanty had him caught behind.

Manish Sharma (68), Robin Bist (62 batting) and Rohit Jhalani (60 batting) prospered at Mysore, taking Rajasthan to 266 for four in 94 overs against Karnataka.

Yogesh sizzles

In another match, Yogesh Takawale compiled an unbeaten 83 to guide Maharashtra to 308 for five against Mumbai in Mumbai.

At Lucknow, Praveen Kumar, Piyush Chawla and Suresh Raina took three wickets each as Uttar Pradesh restricted Baroda to 318 for nine. Satyajit Parab (71), Rakesh Solanki (57), and Irfan Pathan (57) made half-centuries for the visitor.

At Lucknow: Baroda 318 for nine in 91 overs (Satyajit Parab 71, Azharuddin Bilakhia 48, Rakesh Solanki 57, Irfan Pathan 57) vs. Uttar Pradesh.

At Guwahati: Services 272 for five in 88.1 overs (Tahir Khan 142, Yashpal Singh 40) vs. Assam.

At Jammu: Haryana 247 for four in 57 overs (Sumeet Sharma 50, Sachin Rana 108 batting) vs. Jammu & Kashmir.

At Indore: Railways 256 for five in 90 overs (Amit Pagnis 66, Sanjib Sanyal 46, Mahesh Rawat 50 batting, Jalaj Saxena four for 49) vs. Madhya Pradesh.
