NEW DELHI: Two businessmen were shot dead by unidentified assailants at Mansarovar Park here on Thursday night when they were returning home in their car.
It all happened around 9-30 p.m. when Surender Sharma (38) and Balwant Chauhan (45) were returning home from their copper wire factory at Sahibabad in Uttar Pradesh. Some unidentified assailants on motorcycles intercepted their car near their Ram Nagar residence and fired at them. Balwant was hit on the head and chest, while Surender suffered bullet injuries in the back. The two were rushed to Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital where they succumbed to the injuries. The police suspect business rivalry to be the reason behind the double murder. No arrests have been made so far.
