Prisoner jumps from building, injured

COIMBATORE: Murali (28), a remand prisoner, allegedly jumped from the first floor of a building at the Coimbatore Central Prison on Friday.

He sustained injuries in the head and spinal cord and was admitted to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.

His condition was critical, according to hospital authorities.

The police said Murali was in remand in connection with a rape case. — Special Correspondent
