India loses

KOCHI: India lost to Australia 1-3 in its Asian senior volleyball championship opener in Jakarta on Friday.

India won the close first set but lost the four-team Group ‘D’ match against the Commonwealth champion 25-22, 19-25, 18-25, 23-25. Kazakhstan blanked Kuwait 25-19, 25-16, 27-25 in another fixture in the same group. India meets Kazakhstan next.
