Sub : Invitation of bids for booking export orders for Pig Iron for shipments during April - June 1999.

M/s. Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), expects to have a quantity of about 100,000 MT of Pig Iron for shipment during April - June 1999 and requests best price offer for the same. The detailed Chemistry alongwith other general terms and conditions are as follows :

Material : Basic grade steel making Pig Iron

Chemistry : C : 3.5 - 4.5% / Mn : 1% Max / Si : 1.25% Max / P : 0.15% Max / S : 0.05% Max.

Size : Pigs with upto two notches upto 45kgs in weight. Chips/broken pieces below 25mm not exceeding 5%. Dust, dirt and moisture exceeding 0.5% deductible from draft survey wt.

Load Rate : 2500 MT per WWDSASHEXEIU on 5 or more available hatch basis pro rata if less. Each hatch to have lifting cranes / SS derricks of 15T (min) of continuous lifting capacity.

DEM / DES : Nil for shipment size of 9999 MT or less ; USD 4000 PDPR/HD for size of shipment between 10000 And 19999 MT ; and USD 6000 PDPR/HD for 20,000 T or and above size of shipment at load port.

Inspection : By SGS India Ltd at seller's cost. Weight certified at load port by SGS India Ltd shall be final. Invoicing on the basis of draft survey weight certified by SGS.

E M D : EMD amounting to 1% of the bid value to be paid in the form of D.D or T.T without which bids will not be considered.

Payment : Full or part payment in advance within 10 days of confirmation of order by VSP is preferable. Offers with payment by confirmed, on sight, irrevocable without recourse to drawer letter of credit opened at a first class international bank as per the standard format of VSP with red clause may also be considered if the bids offering advance are not acceptable.

Destination for the quantities being quoted to be indicated. If a bid is for part quantities period of delivery desired to be indicated.

All other terms will be as per the standard terms and conditions of VSP Ref No.VSP/EXPT/FOB Dt. 1st April '98 copies of which can be obtained through E-Mail / post on request.

All bids be furnished only in sealed covers superscribing "Bid for Pig Iron for April - June 1999 shipments " addressed to DGM (Exports), Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh - 530 031, India. Bids received by fax or late bids will not be considered. Offer should be sent to reach us by 1730 HRS (IST) on 2.3.99, keeping the validity of the bid upto 12.3.99.
