Schoolgirl abused by teachers

HARD LESSONS: Sangeetha, 11, who was tortured in her school, in Bangalore on Thursday.

BANGALORE: A sixth standard student of a private school at Goruguntepalya in Yeshwanthpur was allegedly tortured physically after she failed to complete her homework before coming to school on Thursday.

The Hindu that the child bore injury marks all over the body and at least six teachers, all of them women, had tortured her for over two hours.

The girl’s father K.C. Kuttappa has given a written complaint to the commission over the torture of his daughter, she added.

She said, “The girl was beaten up by teachers after the girl told them that she had not completed the homework. The incident has left her with a broken right hand and injuries over the face beside bruises all over the body.” In fact, she said, the teachers threatened to disrobe her in front of boys.

Ms. Nesargi said that she had directed the RMC Yard police to registered a complaint against the school authorities.
