KOLKATA: Bengal’s Laxmi Ratan Shukla has decided not to join Indian Cricket League and is said to have accepted the offer of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) to lead the State side in the domestic season.
Shukla, who was in Mumbai along with six other Bengal players to sign the contract offered by the ICL, returned home without doing so saying he needed clarification on a couple of clauses governing the contract. The other six including Bengal skipper Deep Dasgupta signed on the dotted line. CAB sources confirmed on Thursday that Shukla would turn out for Bengal as the team captain. — Special Correspondent
