KOCHI: India suffered a straight set loss to former six-time World champion Brazil and failed to enter the semifinals of the World Youth volleyball championship in Tiguana, Mexico, on Wednesday. Despite India’s 22-25, 23-25, 13-25 loss, there was a three-way tie among India, Brazil and Iran for the second semifinal berth from Group ‘E’. All the three had a win each and two losses but Asian champion Iran grabbed the last-four spot with a superior points ratio. Argentina, which defeated Iran 3-2, topped the four-team group with an all-win record while Brazil and India took the last two places in the group. Pool E: 1. Argentina (6 pts), 2. Iran (4 pts, points ratio 0.993), 3. Brazil (4 pts, ratio 0.957), 4. India (4 pts, ratio 0.944). Pool F: 1. France (5 pts), 2. China (5 pts), 3. Poland (5 pts), 4. Belgium (3 pts).
