‘Dengue under control in city’

BANGALORE: In the wake of reports about incidence of dengue in the city, the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has intensified fogging and spraying operations.
Precautions
“Incidence of dengue has been there in the city as the mosquitoes that cause the fever breed in fresh water. “But it is not as high as reported. Of the nine cases from the city referred to Pune’s National Institute of Virology, only five have tested positive for dengue,” BBMP Commissioner S. Subramanya said. Claiming that the situation was under control, the Commissioner appealed to people to take all precautions against the vector-borne infection.
