Post office needed in Saradanagar

There has been a persistent demand for setting up of a post office/sub-post office at a central place like Saradanagar residential colony to cater to the needs of a number of residential colonies that have grown faster on the eastern side of Sampoorna theatre/Rythu bazar in Vanasthalipuram - like Kamalanagar, Subhadra Nagar, Sarada Nagar etc.

These colonies fall under the jurisdiction of L.B. Nagar Municipal Circle of the GHMC. The residents of these and surrounding colonies have to use the post office in Vanasthalipuram shopping complex, which is at a distance of 2 km as the facility is not available in and around these colonies.

People find it difficult to walk to avail postal facilities.

In order to mitigate the hardship and ameliorate the living conditions of people of far-flung colonies, I earnestly urge the postal authorities to sympathetically consider setting up of a post office/sub post office at Saradanagar so as to avoid inconvenience to people.

Middlemen at rythu bazar

Rythu bazars are based on the concept of farmers’ market where the ryots themselves bring their produce to sell at a price far less than the market price.

As one who visits the bazar in Mehidipatanam, I can vouch that not even 30 per cent of the produce sold are brought by farmers.

A majority of the produce is brought by middlemen.

Prices displayed on the price list board and the actual price varies, thanks to the bargaining attitude of customers.
