Kamal Haasan appears in court

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Actor Kamal Haasan, summoned to the Madras High Court in connection with a dispute over the story line of his under-production film ‘Dasavatharam,’ gave his version to the First Bench on Thursday.

During the over 15-minute in-camera proceedings, the actor replied to queries raised by the Bench, comprising Chief Justice A.P. Shah and Justice P. Jyothimani.

Earlier, an assistant director, S. Senthilkumar, who has claimed ownership of the story, also made a brief submission.

Mr. Senthilkumar claimed he had authored the story and gave it to the actor’s office on an assurance that he would be included in the venture as an assistant director. Though the film was based on his story, he was left out of the venture.

A single judge of the court had dismissed the writ petition.
