Spirit seized

KASARAGOD: Excise officials seized 11,200 litres of spirit illegally brought to the State from a lorry at Kumbla in the district on Wednesday at around 4 a.m. The officials also arrested the driver of the lorry K.S. Thajuddeen, a native of Pookkayil, Thirur in Malappuram district. The excise officials said the spirit was kept in 350 cans. The cans were concealed by placing kits containing spare parts of cars over it. —Staff Reporter
