BANGALORE: CIL weathered a late resurgence from Southern Blues to prevail 2-1 and snatch full points in its Super Division football league match at the football stadium here on Sunday. Referee Micheal disallowed a second goal netted by Roy of Southern Blues claiming that the final whistle had gone off before the ball entered the goal, which however was protested by the losing side. Southern Blues clearly was at the receiving end of the referee’s decisions as two penalty award claims were not granted. CIL got its goals through Kanakaraj (47th) and Pradeep (86th) while conceding a self goal in the 82nd minute when its defender Krishna Kumar glided the ball into his own net following an essay from Southern Blues’ Don Bosco. CIL, with a match in hand, has now tallied 11 points while Southern Blues finished its engagements with just six points. Cue sports trials
The selection trials for the second Macau indoor cue-sport games will be to be held at the KSBA Hall in Bangalore from August 6 to 20. The trials will be held in billiards, snooker and pool for men and in snooker, 8-ball and 9-ball pool for women.
