Engineer found dead at guest house

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: A software engineer was found dead under mysterious circumstances at the Wipro guest house in BTM Layout in Madivala police station limits on Tuesday morning.

The police said V. Chandrasekhar (31), who worked with the Wipro in Hyderabad, was the son of a retired teacher and a native of Kurnool.

He had come here 20 days ago for induction training, staying at the company guesthouse housed in a rented building.

When Chandrasekhar did not come out of his room till 8.30 a.m., the occupants of the other rooms and the guesthouse caretaker B.S. Rao tried to wake him up. As there was no response, the police were called.

The police, with the assistance of the guesthouse staff, broke open the door and found him lying dead on the cot, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East) Soumendu Mukherjee told The Hindu. Chandrasekhar had taken eight bottles of beer to his room on Monday night and had consumed six.

He had turned on the ceiling fan and the air-conditioner full blast.

He is suspected to have died of heart failure and chill, Mr. Mukherjee said.
