CET casual vacancy round begins today

BANGALORE: The Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell will hold the medical and dental casual vacancy round seat selection process for physically disabled, NCC, sports and wards of Jammu & Kashmir migrants on July 25.

But general merit students keen on selecting the 850 new MBBS seats approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI) in government colleges will have to wait till July 28. The Casual Vacancy Round for them and all other categories will be held from July 28 to 31.

On Wednesday, 15 seats will be offered for physically disabled, two seats for NCC and six seats for wards of J&K migrants.

Medical seats

The availability of medical seats under various categories is as follows: GM (380); GMR (59); GMK (20); 1G (28); 1R (2)_; 1K (4); 2AG (109); 2AR (19); 2AK (5); 2BG (25); 2BR (5); 3AK (2); 3BG (41); 3BR (5); 3BK (2); SCG (118); SCR (17); SCK (5); STG (21); STR (3); STK (1); Defence (3); Ex-Defence (2); Scouts & Guides (1); AGL (1).

The availability of dental seats under various categories is as follows: GM (129); GMR (38); GMK (11); 1G (17); 2AG (48); 2AR (1); 2AK (1); 2BG (13); 2BR (1); 3AG (14); 3AR (2); 3BG (18); 3BK (1); SCG (82); SCR (5); SCK (5); STG (14); STR (1); Defence (1).

All candidates who had either attended or not attended, selected or not selected any seat, reported or not reported to the respective colleges, are eligible to participate in the casual vacancy round for Medical, Dental, ISM & H, Engineering and Architecture seats.

However, candidates holding medical / dental seats and those who select medical / dental seats in the casual vacancy round are not eligible to take part in the ISM & H Casual Vacancy Round. Medical / dental seats taken in admission round will have to be surrendered for participation in the ISM & H Casual round. The same rule applies for engineering casual vacancy round too.
