BHUBANESWAR: IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) said more than 1100 students from 10 engineering colleges of Orissa were offered jobs by the company in the current recruitment season. The company claimed it was the largest in the history of campus recruitments in the State by TCS as well as any IT services company. Nearly 65 per cent of these campus hires were from four city-based engineering colleges, the company said in a statement here on Tuesday. "The record recruitment, nearly eight times the offers made in the previous year, establishes the State as a major source of engineering talent in the country for the IT major, which already has operations at Bhubaneswar since 2001," TCS said. The IT behemoth, which has offices in over 50 countries, has recruited over 32,000 people in 2006-07 fiscal.
