Newspaper employees `manhandled'

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Two employees of a Tamil daily "Dinathanthi" were allegedly manhandled by a group of people led by V Pughazhendi, former State convenor of the AIADMK, at the newspaper's office here on Wednesday. According to Arumugam, the newspaper's reporter who was manhandled, Mr. Pughazhendi and his supporters were upset with the paper for having reported about his recent arrest in connection with a cheating case registered against him in Maharashtra. "They made threatening calls to our office on May 14 and May 15. Yesterday (Wednesday), they barged into our manager Raj Kumar's chamber and manhandled him. When I entered the chamber, I was also pushed," he said.
