100 per cent property tax collection in new zones

BANGALORE: Areas coming under the five new zones of Mahadevapura, Byatarayanapura, Bommanahalli, Rajarajeshwarinagar and Dasarahalli, which have been recently included in the new Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), have recorded property tax collection of Rs. 84 crore, in all, for 2006-07. With this, the target of 100 per cent tax collection set by BBMP Commissioner K. Jairaj has been achieved, according to a press release.
